mechanic and designer, as an architect, as an urban and regional planner, and
as an architectural consultant on archaeological excavations in the Near East
and Greece. As of 1977: Full-time painter, co-founder of the artists’
group Ratgeb. Studio address since 1987: Oranienstrasse 19a in the Kreuzberg
district of Berlin. Numerous mural-painting projects in Berlin and France.
In 1996: Publication of the book Verblichene Idyllen – Wandmalerei im
Berliner Mietshaus der Jahrhundertwende, an exhaustive examination of turn-of-the-century
mural paintings in Berlin tenement buildings.
